University StartUp Competition: launch of the third edition of the award for academic startups
There is time until 19 May 2017 to submit business ideas developed in the Italian universities to the University StartUp Competition, the competition that awards the best European university startups, launched by Junior Achievement, the world’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to economic-entrepreneurial education in schools.
The third edition of the University StartUp Competition, organized with the support of Visa, aims to enhance the ability of university startups to benefit from the opportunities offered by technology, in particular in the contexts of connectivity and global trade, evaluating them according to the criteria of innovation, globalization, consumer awareness and growth potential.
The competition is open to teams of at least two students aged between 19 and 30 years, regularly enrolled in a university course, master’s course, PhD programme or other postgraduate courses. The 5 best startups selected will present their business ideas in front of a large audience and a jury of professionals during the event BIZ Factory, organized by JA Italia in collaboration with StartupItalia!, which will take place on 6 June 2017 in Milan. The winning startup will follow an accelerator programme offered by Visa at its premises in Milan and, subsequently, will represent Italy at the European Enterprise Challenge of JA Europe that will be held 28 to 30 June 2017 in Helsinki, Finland.
