This is included in the new call published by the Ministry of Education, University and Research to implement measures to support human capital provided for in the National Operational Programme ESF-ERDF “Research and Innovation 2014-2020”, under the National Research Programme 2015-2020.

This will allow PhD students to qualify their educational and research experiences “from an industrial perspective”, thus improving their employability and, consequently, the entire productive system of the areas involved in the programme: less developed regions (Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Puglia and Sicily) and transition regions (Abruzzo, Molise, Sardinia).
With the important funding of approximately 18 million euro, the decree will continue the programme that was started with the previous calls under the PON R&I Call “Innovative Industrial Doctorates”, based on new types of collaborations with the entrepreneurial world as well as the promotion and strengthening of high education and post-graduate specialization of doctorate level, consistently with the needs of the national productive system.
In this regard, the new call aims at supporting the promotion of higher education and post-graduate specialization consistently with the National Smart Specialization Strategy approved by the European Commission, also including the specific needs in the fields of Big Data and Industry 4.0.
