“Sociallibreria”, the spin-off of Uninsubria for the creation of a European virtual museum
It is the first spin-off of the University of Insubria created exclusively by students and it was recently presented at the event “Horizon 2020 Project Factory - ICT and Creative Industries”, organized by the Brussels office of Berlin Partner, member of the Enterprise Europe Network, in collaboration with Unioncamere Lombardia.
Its name is “Sociallibreria” and it is a new “made in Varese” business idea designed to create a high-resolution audiovisual innovative multimedia platform destined to become a showcase for all European museums: ‘The concept of product that we want to develop – explained Danjel Delishi and Nazario Martino, the students who developed the project – does not want to imitate experiences that only the actual visit to a museum can give. It aims to make these experiences available using the best existing technologies to those who cannot afford transfers and long trips, trying to bring culture closer to people through a simple and intuitive interface, in the user’s native language’.
In addition to the creation of a “virtual museum”, the project includes the creation of a real museum with 3D hologram technology, consisting of a space suitable for the projection of the platform’s contents: in practice, a series of technological rooms equipped with 3D projectors, computer graphic and computer vision. During the Brussels workshop, the students presented the ambitious project to a panel of European universities as potential partners that may join the “Carlo Cattaneo e Giulio Preti” International Centre Insubrico, already a partner of the spin-off of the University of Insubria.
