Researchers’ Night: "CLOSER, la Ricerca vista da vicino" to open in Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta

Researchers’ Night:

The CLOSER-Cementing Links between Science&Society toward Engagement and Responsibility project, organized within the twelfth edition of the European Researchers’ Night will soon start in Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta. Alessandria, Asti, Biella, Cuneo, Torino, Verbania and Aosta are ready to host thousands of researchers, universities, research centres and companies that intend to strengthen the synergy between the territory and research and innovation on 29 September 2017.

Piedmont is among the few regions that has taken part in all the previous eleven editions of this event and also this year has passed the European selection together with Valle d’Aosta with the CLOSER project which entirely embraces the values promoted by Responsible Research and Innovation - RRI, the most powerful Horizon 2020 "cross-issue”.

Promoted and co-funded by the European Commission, under the HORIZON 2020 European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, the European Researchers’ Night is an initiative aimed at bringing the public closer to research and especially researchers, by raising citizens’ awareness on the importance of scientific research for the cultural, social and economic development of society.

CLOSER is coordinated by Agorà Scienza and organized by the University of Turin, Polytechnic University of Turin, University of Eastern Piedmont, University of Gastronomic Sciences, Associazione CentroScienza Onlus and Creativa-impresa di comunicazione. The project events will include experiments and live scientific tests, exhibitions and guided tours, dissemination conferences and seminars, shows and concerts in all the cities involved.
