Research and Innovation Open Data, Friuli Venezia Giulia portal now available

The research and innovation open data portal of Friuli Venezia Giulia is now online.

The project results from SiS FVG, the Scientific System and Innovation coordination initiative promoted by Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia with the aim of making available and easily accessible data related to the overall ecosystem of scientific research and local innovation.

Designed by Sissa Medialab on behalf of Regione Autonoma FVG, the new website offers qualitative and quantitative data, in English and Italian.

Being the first regional initiative on research and innovation open data, this portal uses user-friendly interactive graphs and navigation tools to be used through several digital media.

A summary sheet, integrating short texts and data, summarizes the figures related to the 18 institutes involved in the initiative. The Partners section reports, for each institute, the number of researchers and students affiliated, the amount and nature of funding, the facilities, scientific and educational programmes offered.

The Data visualization section, the most innovative in the website, contains the most important numbers related to the local system, which are reported in cards and can be viewed in a simple and immediate way through customizable interactive graphs. All datasets can be downloaded and shared in the most common formats, ready to be used in different ways. Other portal sections offer information about the ongoing projects and services carried out by SiS FVG, as well as news and events.

The initiative confirms a strong attention to research and innovation topics by Friuli Venezia Giulia region, which is able to bring together a rich network of internationally renowned scientific excellence. This is also confirmed by the recent appointment of Trieste Capital of Science in 2020 for the Euro Science Open Forum.
