Research and Development: Automotive Innovation Day held in Trento
On 22 June, the Bruno Kessler Foundation in Trento hosted the Automotive Innovation Day workshop organized by HIT – Hub Innovazione Trentino, in collaboration with Trentino Sviluppo, to connect the representatives of the four research and development divisions of national automotive companies and the technologies of the research system that HIT represents.
During the meeting, the representatives of Centro Ricerche Fiat, Fiamm, Landi Renzo and Pirelli, presented the main lines of technological development in this sector to Trentino-based companies, which have examined the opportunities to be involved in the national reference supply chains.
“This is the first event of a set of thematic meetings that HIT will organize to bring together the research system of Trentino and the different markets represented by reference industries in the national and international landscape” said Luca Mion, HIT Head of Innovation.
“Technologies that support smart mobility – said Mauro Casotto, HIT Vice-President and Director of the Operational Directorate of Trentino Sviluppo – are a high-potential sector for many companies that are already involved in the hubs of Polo Meccatronica and Progetto Manifattura, but also for other local stakeholders. Moreover, creating increasingly connected systems and vehicles with limited consumption and emissions means finding the ideal crossroad where the most advanced research in green tech and the best sensor and electronic components typical of mechatronics can meet. These are two smart specializations on which Trentino has decided to focus efforts and public funds in the next few years”.
