Renewable energy and environment, agreement between Elettra Sincrotrone and ENI
Elettra Sincrotrone in Trieste and ENI have signed a new scientific and technological collaboration agreement in the field of renewable energy and environmental technologies.
ENI will use the advanced skills and instruments of the international research centre based at the Area Science Park in Trieste, to carry our studies and research in the areas of interest.
Based on this agreement, Elettra Sincrotrone will be involved in characterizing new materials to be used in the production of renewable energy, to conduct studies in the geo-physical setting and analysis of the chemical and physical processes related to the use of fossil fuels and lubricants, with the purpose of reducing the environmental impact related to their use.
The pluriannual collaboration provides for the implementation of specific research and development projects which will be launched in the near future.
“Besides being at the service of the international scientific community, we have been promoting for years the use of our facilities by Italian and foreign companies having a strong propensity to innovation and technology. In particular, with Eni we intend to give a new impulse to a 30-year long collaboration that can have an important impact in terms of new knowledge as well as innovative technological applications”, said Alfonso Franciosi, President and CEO of Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste.
