Regione Lazio: non-refundable grants to set up innovative startups, call now open
To support the setting up and consolidation of innovative companies, especially in the delicate phase of activity start up, Regione Lazio has decided to launch a “pre-seed” call, with a budget of 4 million euro, open to innovative startups and research spin-offs set up after this call publication date, scheduled for 20 April 2017.
Therefore, beneficiaries will be:
- knowledge-intensive innovative startups, for which contributions up to 100% of the capital provided by members are available, with a budget of 10,000 to 30,000 euro; if there are third parties as investors, e.g. “business angels” which provide a capital of at least 10,000 euro, the grant can be as high as 40,000 euro;
- research spin-offs, for which contributions from 10,000 to 100,000 euro are available, equal to the maximum amount of the value of the working time provided by innovator members in the first year of activity and the capital value.
“This pre-seed call – an Unindustria announcement explains – helps create a new plan of measures to support all phases of activities of innovative startups (pre-seed, seed, venture, expansion) called ‘Startup Lazio 2014-2020!’, for which Regione Lazio has allocated approximately 100 million euro”. A budget that will be used to pursue four priorities: to strengthen the ecosystem of startups in Rome and Lazio; to promote and improve good practices already adopted by Regione Lazio and Lazio Innova in their calls launched recently; to encourage the attraction of new investors in this area to support the growth and diversification of companies and subjects that make up the ecosystem of Lazio; to support research spin-offs to encourage the process of technological transfer and improve the relationships between research/innovation/company”.
