Proof of concept, from MIUR a call to explore the innovation potential of fundamental research
Supporting researchers active in Italy in exploring the innovation potential of knowledge and innovations developed through fundamental research projects is the aim of the Proof of Concept call, published by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research.
The call has a total budget of 10 million euro, within the National Research Programme 2015-2020, and it is open to professors and researchers from universities and public research institutions who have received European, national or regional funding for fundamental research projects.
The Proof of Concept must be carried out by setting up an industrial research project that is the direct and consequent continuation of a fundamental research project that has already received funding.
Proposals should be in line with the topics of the 12 Areas of the National Smart Specialisation Strategy: Aerospace; Agrifood; Blue Growth; Green Chemistry; Cultural Heritage; Design, Creativity and Made in Italy; Energy; Smart Factory; Sustainable Mobility; Health; Smart, Secure and Inclusive Communities; Technologies for Living Environments.
Funded under the Fund for Development and Cohesion, the call aims to support the regions of Southern Italy. In particular, the beneficiaries and host institutions should be based in a geographical area including the following regions: Abruzzo, Basilicata, Campania, Calabria, Molise, Apulia, Sicily and Sardinia.
Applications can be submitted between 3 May and 5 July 2018 using the SIRIO online access point, following the instructions in the call.
