The Pisa Marine Graduate School is the first school of excellence resulting from the collaboration between University of Pisa and Zhejiang Ocean University. The School will offer joint master’s degree courses in Marine Biology, Biosafety and Food Quality.
Every year, 30 students, both Chinese and Italian, will have the opportunity to follow their joint courses at the School, located at the campus of the Chinese University and which has been officially approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education.
“Zhejiang Ocean University, founded in 1958, is one of the most important Chinese universities in the field of Marine Sciences and Food Science and Technology”, said Paolo Mancarella, Rector of the University of Pisa. “Our University already activated an agreement with ZJOU University for a joint master’s course in Marine Biology in the academic year 2015/2016. Since then, a fruitful collaboration between the two Universities has been developed also in other scientific disciplines, which led to the launch of a joint programme in Biosafety and Food Quality and, today, of the school of excellence, a flagship in our educational offer”.
“This school will be a great new opportunity to bring the two nations and their cultures together“, said Francesco Marcelloni, Pro Rector for Cooperation and International Relations at the University of Pisa.
