Oil and natural gas: Polytechnic University of Turin and Gazprom Neft sign partnership agreement
An agreement to integrate advanced educational and research activities on new technologies in the oil and natural gas sector was signed on 2 June by the Polytechnic University of Turin and Gazprom Neft, the fourth Russian oil company, during the visit of Minister of Economic Development Carlo Calenda to SPIEF - St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The five-year agreement signed in Saint Petersburg by Rector of Polytechnic University Marco Gilli and by Vladyslav Baryshnikov, Vice-CEO of the Russian oil company, stems from the need to build a close cooperation between industry and universities, aimed at conducting research and educational activities as well as technology transfer.
The agreement includes advanced educational and research activities with educational activities addressed to managers and employees of Gazprom, and lessons and meetings for executives. Joint research activities will concern new technologies in the oil and natural gas sector, pooling joint skills.
“The signature of international agreements on these themes qualifies our University as a reference for research, education and technology transfer in the Oil & Gas sector”, said Rector of Polytechnic University Marco Gilli, and concluded: “I think that these high-level partnerships on extremely important topics, such as energy, are for our University, and also for our territory and our country, a further impulse to opening the doors to a very interesting market”.
