Maritime sector: registrations now open to the first Italian master on safety and environment
Registrations are now open to the 2nd degree university master “Advanced Skills in Safety Environment and Security at Sea” at the University of Trieste, the first Italian master and one of the very few ones at international level focused on safety and environment in the maritime sector.
The master is one of the activities of the ASSESS project, approved and co-funded under the Blue Careers initiatives in Europe, of which mareFVG – the sea technological cluster of Friuli Venezia Giulia – is the leader in collaboration with the University of Trieste, the National Institute Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics (OGS), the Marine Technology Research Institute Vasca Navale of the National Research Council (CNR-INSEAN), Lloyd’s Register EMEA, with support by Fincantieri and Wärtsilä.
The master aims at offering a specific academic-professional training in the field of safety environment and security at sea, by providing the companies working in the maritime sector with qualified employees and work force able to apply the most recent technologies to encourage their growth in the blue economy setting. The programme is also open to people who already have a job, it will last one year and will include 1,500 hours of training activities. Applications can be submitted before 14:00 on Thursday 5 October 2017. Additional information is available on the ASSESS project website.
