International Call for projects for designing Villa Adriana
After six months, the award of the International Call for projects for designing the Grand Villa Adriana, launched under the Piranesi Prix de Rome 2018, was completed.
The winner of the first prize was the project submitted by the team Polytechnic University of Milan – Polo di Mantova Scuola Auic coordinated by Federico Bucci, Eduardo Souto de Moura and Angelo Lorenzi.
“Here, the winner is architecture, as well as the relationship between the profession of architects and universities, with the national and international schools of architecture”, said Prof. Federico Bucci, coordinator of the winning team. “Italy needs architecture, needs to train architects who, no matter where they come from, will found extraordinary places in Italy, being wonderful and fragile at the same time, where it is necessary to do things useful for taking care of the territory.”
The Call for proposals and outcomes will be exhibited at the Polytechinc University of Milan in spring, along with the presentation of the book that will collect all the proposals submitted.
The award was organized by the Adrianea Academy of Architecture and Archaeology in collaboration with the Autonomous Institute of Villa Adriana – Villa d’Este of MiBACT and the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscapers and Conservationists of Rome and Province
