Foreign students in Bari thanks to the

Thirty students aged 20 to 27 years from 6 countries and 2 continents will reach the University of Bari from Senegal, Somalia, Kenya, Argentina, Chile and Peru to follow the courses organized by the Departments of Medicine, Biology, Economics, Computer Science, Earth Science, Educational Sciences and Humanities.

This is an intercultural semester, funded by Regione Puglia under the “Come In Uniba” project, resulting from the university agreement on intercontinental student transnationality and mobility, being the first network protocol of this kind organized by the University of Bari.

“Come In Uniba, strongly wanted by Regione Puglia and that the University of Bari has joined with particular enthusiasm, is a project of inclusion, acceptance, promotion of values of intercultural integration and mutual growth,” said Rector Antonio Felice Uricchio, Scientific contact person for the incoming interinstitutional framework agreement.

The services offered by the University of Bari to the 30 scholarship holders will include the completion of a “Personal Folder Skills”, where student final skills will be included under supervision of professor Serafina Pastore, researcher in General Teaching at Forpsicom and coordinator of certification activities of the Center for Lifelong Learning that developed a Portal where it will be possible to follow the project implementation.

The 6 Universities involved in the “Come in Uniba” network protocol are:

  • Strathmore University - Kenya
  • Somali National University - Somalia*
  • Universidad Católica Sedes Sapientiae de Lima - Perù
  • Universidad Nacional de La Matanza de Buenos Aires - Argentina
  • Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso - Chile
