Campus Bio-Medico spin-off lanched Icone, for robotic rehabilitation following a stroke

ICan Robotics, a spin-off of Campus Bio-Medico University (UCBM) of Rome, has presented “Icone”, a robot-assisted neurorehabilitation system for the recovery of compromised motor functions by a stroke.

Developed by a team of researchers of Campus, the system is equipped with a touch graphic interface which makes it more user-friendly for both physical therapists and patients: moreover, the product has obtained the medical EC marking which allows it to be used not only within the medical hospital environment but also at patient’s home.

The new robot largely meets the increasing need of patients for home rehabilitation services, to the benefit of patient “de-hospitalization”, with a consequent positive impact on both patients' and caregivers' quality of life.
