Brain magnetic resonance, Unitrento equipped with a new device
The new device, with 3 Tesla and a first-class instrumental equipment, is one of the most powerful and advanced devices available on the global market for clinical research. Being powerful and advanced, it is an essential instrument to obtain an accurate representation of the brain status and behaviour since it helps study all brain-related diseases including Parkinson’s Disease, multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Carlo Miniussi, CIMeC Director, said “Caritro Foundation has been supporting since the beginning the project to develop a centre that studied how the brain works. Last October, we celebrated our 10th anniversary. CIMeC has grown, setting up a network of first-class international collaborations. At the same time, we intend to be a university centre involved in neuroscience at the service of territorial needs, starting with people with diseases of the nervous system, such as Alzheimer’s Disease or other dementias”.
This device will be crucial for the development of several projects currently funded by the European Research Council, by supporting the University of Trento in consolidating its role on the international research scenario.
