BIO BASED INDUSTRIES JU, the call 2018 has been published
The 2018 call proposed by Bio-Based Industries Joint Undertaking, the initiative carried out under Horizon 2020, has been published. The aim is to facilitate technological innovations that allow an efficient and sustainable conversion of biomass into industrial products and fuels/energy.
The call has a budget of approximately 115 million euro for 21 topics and has the same 4 strategic orientations as the 2017 call: Feedstock, Process, Products, Market uptake.
The 2018 call will officially open on 11 April 2018 and the deadline for the submission of proposals is 6 September 2018, while conclusions are expected by the end of the year.
Among the novelties, this year’s edition includes an additional eligibility criterion for 6 topics: the partnership must include at least one member of the Bio-Based Industry Consortium - BIC.
The calls will be presented on 17 April in Brussels at the Info Day organized by BBI JU. APRE is organizing a national Info Day that will be held in the same period, the details of which will be available soon.
The Bio-Based Industries initiative is a €3.7 billion public-private partnership between the EU and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC), which brings together 60 small and large companies, clusters and public and private organisations interested in investing in bio-based research and innovation.
Further information on the BBI 2018 calls is available in the Annual Work Plan 2018.
