Nexus 2018: relationship between architecture and mathematics

From 11 to 14 June 2018, the University of Pisa will host the event "Nexus 2018: Relazioni tra architettura e matematica", which will be held at the Department of Energy, System, Territory and Construction Engineering-DESTeC University of Pisa and Kim Williams Books.
The meeting will focus on the relationship between architecture and mathematics through a wide range of topics, which will also be addressed through the presentation of buildings and neighbourhoods designed by great architects of the past, including Leon Battista Alberti and Andrea Palladio, as well as contemporary masters such as Xenakis, Le Corbusier, Frei Otto and Frank Lloyd Wright.
The works will be studied from the viewpoint of mathematical notions: symmetry, geometry and proportion.
