International Darwin Day in Siena
When: 02/14/2018 - 02/16/2018
On the occasion of International Darwin Day, the University of Siena is organizing two science communication events that will take place on 14 and 16 February 2018. The international initiative is dedicated to the British biologist, naturalist and illustrator, and aims to celebrate the theory of evolution more than two centuries after his birth.
The events organized in Siena, thanks to Sistema Museale Universitario Senese – SIMUS, in collaboration with Unione Atei Agnostici e Razionalisti - UAAR, aim to bring people closer to the observation of nature and scientific curiosity and to raise awareness among young people and citizens against disinformation and the phenomenon of fake news.
Wednesday 14 February features flash talks on themes related to the theory of evolution. Speakers include Francesco Frati, Rector of the University of Siena.
On Friday 16 February, Claudio Leonzio and Edmondo Trentin will talk about life sciences and new technologies.
